Psychology protection - two-edged sword

Many people perceive called. psychological protection as the ability to adequately respond to aggression and dignified exit from the conflict. With such a skill no one is born - it is made over the years and must be recognized, even then not for everyone. But to maintain a sense of Conditions of even those who are not able to communicate very well, there are protective mechanisms of the psyche - so called. primary protection. These are ways to respond to traumatic situations that we need to maintain self-assessment and to restore their self-esteem. Psychological defense mechanisms are universal for all, they are out of our nature - that are actually patterns of behavior and reaction to one or other traumatic situation. The primary psychological defense is two-edged sword. In its apparent benefit (the ability to accept painful situation without loss of self-assessment), however, there are two flaws. First, psychological defense does not alter the order of things, it only delivered us from the anxiety and discomfort, and second - it works in such a way that distorts reality in favor of our emotional stability.
To play hide and seek: “Nothing happened”
The mechanism of negation operates on the principle “if you say something, then it is not in case”. Adverse events not considered to exist. Denial is often a first reaction of the irreversible events - death or illness. It can be faced and in family relations: We think it is less painful blind eye to the problem than to put the matter even though rebrom. Can often hear the question: Where the child’s parents watch-junkie in the family safely outside? Why did not they pay attention to the alarming signs? The answer is fairly simple - because the work mechanism of denial - the parents do not allow the thought that something similar could happen in their family.
